Virus Protections?

Hey guys, I've personally been using a free version of the virus protection called " ZoneAlarm Security ", And I have to say, I'm disappointed. Can anyone please give me a few suggestions? (Something you have experience with will be nice, that way I know it might work.) Something that had a free version would be nice also, Seeing as how this computer is Temporary A piece of sh*t. , but for an unknown amount of time.

Microsoft security essentials. Its free, updates regularly and so far its doing great protecting my pc.

I use Avast and have used it for a very long time now. I really like it. Works great for me.

Iobit was actually found to be stealing Databases from Malwarebytes, actually, I won't touch their stuff.

Avast! has worked great for me for several years now. It's not the absolute best protection but it is very fast. It's also (in my opinion) the best gaming antivirus. It doesn't *** up every game on your pc etc. There are some better options if perfect protection is what you want but don't expect to find anything (free) that's better protection & that won t mess up all your games.

every laptop with Avast , i removed their HDD and put it on desktop scanned it with norton, 11 viruses in windows files.

the ones im suggesting.

Synmantec (norton)
at company i used to do practise all servers had synmantec anti virus.

The A/V's I prefer, ALL Free (Paid is optional, you shouldn't need it):

Avast and/or MSE (Only Avast or MSE, not both at the same time) with Malwarebytes AntiMalware (Get paid for MBAM, one time fee, you won't regret it)

You can't install it on 8, not that you should even want to actually since it already technically has MSE

Avast is the only one that works for me. it blocks viruses real time.
Other option would be Antivir, but from my experience it is weaker. The rest- I would never touch, especially Norton; rest can easily cause more harm rather than help.
So Avast for real time protection and Malwarebytes, Hitmanpro for scanning your pc.
