FR, R8R is pretty much the norm to get for the most damage. Dragon gear or so is decent but not alot of squads take it.
Melee has to be aps, mages are just high dps.

Given what you stated, I presume bad stats r8r characters would have an issue with joining an FR run? (melee player here)

if your a melee, sage 4 aps/demon 3.33 you should be fine.
My demon sin wears dragon gears n have 45 attack lvls and can kill stuff fine.
Some people dont want to feel like they are carrying you thru the run, which means  you dont contribute to the team.

Ah, good to know. That's completely understandable. Uhm, is there by chance a guide on what to do in the instance? so as to not lack/take up too much of the squad's time by asking questions.
