The point is, you have to re-summon the pet in the most cases unless you take a de-tour. Also, it bugs at a places it shouldn't due to those puddles. Additionally, you cannot send the pet anyway from such a distance to a chest

not all wfs are demon (running fast) and as for puddles, u can just get out of puddle n summon pet anyways 
the point is, is to just have any pet (mys or wf) not unsummon in water. wont rlly change much except for the fact we can use pets to the fullest extent, that's all

The instance used in HB is adapted from trials map as base, so the puddles are not purposefully put for that intent.
