Rerolling

I would like to ask Agatio or someone who knows how the re-rolling works.
My question is: For example, getting 3 x (stats) is like 0.05% or 1 in a 5000 re-rolls.
What if, I re-rolled 200 x straight and decided to stop and do it again later on.
Will my chance of getting 3 x (stats) resets or will it remain?


I'm not sure if this is a correct math representation of my question.
1 in a 5000 re-rolls.
5000 - 200 = 1 in a 4800 re-rolls.
Stop and continue later on.
1 in a 5000 re-rolls or remains 1 in a 4800 re-rolls?

I know almost nothing about the stats on rerolling but I'm 90% sure your math is flawed with the 5k rerolls-200, not sure tho. 

Also, if I'm not mistaken, I think there's quite a few threads on this topic. I'd look them up but I can't atm. ): But use search and I'm sure you'll find tons.

I can't. What. What did i even just read? 
If it's a 1 in 5,000 chance, it's ALWAYS 1 in 5,000. The game doesn't stop and go "Hmm he rolled 200, let me take some off so he has more chance.." If that was the case, everyone would have perfect gear withing 50 days of making a toon. Each roll would be 1/5,000 chance. Always.

Guys I asked this question so that I know more about the mechanics of re-rolling.

i was innocent too, but i learned how to grow fangs. - punch em right in the ballsack/crotch. 

anyway ye you gotta know wut u need. lets say u need 5k rolls for 3x int, get 5k, start rerolling, u might get it in 1st try, u might get it in 4999 try. makes sense? but needs to be continual

Oh I see, then I guess I should save a lot of re-rolling mats then.
