what is the difference between reduce physical damge taken and physical defense, what for are they useful individualy?

Physical defense raises your base defense and stacks with buffs. The higher the def the lower the damage. RPD gets calculated after the defense and reduces the physical damage you would take by the amount of RPD you have. RPD is stronger because it stacks better. imagine you would take 1000 damage, if you had 40% rpd you would only take 400 less. To get the same effect you would need a shit load of defense and the higher your def the more you need to get the base damage reduced any further. Kind of complicated to explain lol
