Anime is horse shit, bottom line. It does not even hold a torch to beautiful western style animation. The reason majority of Anime makes its female characters "kawaii" and younger in age, is obviously because their culture allows sex with children. It's because of the different laws. Since each country has their own defined "age of consent", their media is effected by it. However, I believe the western world often misinterprets anime. There's nothing illegal in anime itself, rather the visual depiction of underage children in sexual situations or acts (often falling into a genre called hentai). In the United States this issue was handled in 2 ways. One being the PROTECT act of 2003. The second being 18 U.S.C. § 2252. Anime itself should not be banned, rather pornography (which already is) and lolicon (which already falls into a huge gray area). I will say one thing... Your post is super inaccurate in terms of representing the "real" anime culture as a whole.
