I just voted a few hours ago and didn't have any issues whatsoever.

I've been voting with no issues at all. Even when the 2nd vote link was wonky, I still got the gold. Try clearing cache/cookies or use a different browser.

You get 3 gold for single voting. 9 gold would be for 3 votes.
Gold isn't delivered instantly, sometimes it can take more than 20 minutes for it to be added and relog from account can be required.
