"finnaly found a reason, i dont need an excuse" Yeah, thats what i got from this thread.

Simply put, blame the server all you want, but your connection decides far more than the servers speed. For example:

Lets say you have a wireless router, and no password on it. Anyone can connect to it, and use your bandwidth. If they torrent on your connection, you have less bandwidth, and slower connections to everything, even pw.

If you yourself are torrenting, cap the upload speed on the torrent. If your using all your upload speed on a torrent, how are you going to upload packets to a game server, telling it your still connected? If you have multiple family members in your household, make sure they are not torrenting, or doing anything that would cause a huge spike in bandwidth.

If your at a college or university, and you are using their internet service, then just give up. You would be better off tethering from a cell phone x.x

Finnaly, your distance from the server also dictates your speed. This server is located in France, how far are you from it? If your packets that you send have to hop through 50+ connections before making it to the server, any one of those connections could be bad, causing lagg spikes.

So no, lagg isnt the reason people beat you in pvp, its just the outcome of poor bandwidth control. After all, i live on the east coast of the united states (rather far from france) and my ping stays around 300ms.

I don't usually post much but I thought this was an English server, not a french one. Should it not be located in North America, or at the least give us that live in said Continent a good connection? I am very disappointed, since the host maintenance I have had ping up to 50k ms. Don't tell me that's my connection, I had very rare lag spikes prior, my other programs run perfectly fine, and I am not torrenting. All I do is set stall and I still disconnect by the hour, how do you expect people to pk?

The server is "english" in the sense that people speak it. Just because a universal trade language is spoken, does not make it located in 'North America". Understand, Mexio is located in "North America", but that does not make our language Spanish. The server is located in France. Agatio, the developer of this server, is Polish (which leads me to believe he lives somewhere in Poland). The gm's here are mostly located in the United States, which is why they choose to enforce the "English only in WC" rule, as this server chooses to cater more to the english speaking community.

Multiple factors decide ping, not just the servers location. As i stated, i live in Ohio, located on the eastern side of the United States, and my ping to the server on average is around 300ms. Bandwidth usage is the primary cause of lagg, while the path your packets travel, is the second source of lagg. If your packets hop through 50 connections to speak to the server, and any of those connections are slow, you will lagg. It's simply based on your connectivity vs the worlds connectivity. This server could be located in your back yard, and you still lagg due to many other factors.

Way's to reduce lagg:

1. Close all torrents.
2. Disable social applictions (Skype, MSN, Yahoo messenger) as anything that requires you to upload a packet to a server, requires bandwidth.
3. Close other clients. If you have characters AFKing in town, you are still sending(uploading) and recieving(downloading) packets. This takes away from your bandwidth, resulting in lagg.
4. Secure your connection. If others are using your internet connection (regardless of if its wifi, or through a hamachi type application) you will lose potential bandwidth.

These things may ease a little pain in the lagg, but at the end of the day, it all comes down to your your connectivity to your isp, the route in which your connection travels to the server, and the servers connection to its ISP.

If someone can simplify what i wrote, i would really appreciate it x.x

You reply to me as if I am an imbecile that does not know how to properly secure my router and clicks the mouse 300 times if something does not open within half a second. Bye.
