Your pet's mood doesn't have the filled-in star next to it, meaning the skill level isn't maxed.

That's why it's a level 3 version instead of 5.

Each mood either has no star, an empty star, or a filled star.

That's why it shows a filled star next to the moods in the list, it shows the max versions.

You just have to keep rolling until you get it.
