I mean the people having it aren't more or less "recognized", don't really know why, it was never something special to anyone

You really don't know why? You just said the reason. It is not special because people think "Oh, the power ranking... psh, seekers will deal the highest damage anyway." If they give a title (2 weeks duration) to each class who gets the first place, they will be start to get recognized. And people would be more interested. 
I am not complaining about not being recognized, this is just to share opinions and make of this system something useful and interesting for players. ^^

GM would have to distribute the rewards. And since rankings reset each week, GM would have to be there to check the results for each class on Sunday evening every time. Doable, but too troublesome
