Please note: I have not written a short story in a long time, so I'm a bit rusty. However, I liked the concept and just went with it. Problem is, I don't know if I want to leave it as is, or if I want to continue with it. Apparently I'm not allowed to have breaks to depict paragraphs, so, unfortunately, there is that glaring mistake. Aside from that, it's a bit long, about 5 or 6 pages, so if you don't want to read it for that reason, I understand. This is basically a what if scenario about what would happen if the super-volcano in Yellowstone National Park actually erupted. Add in a shady "corporation" and you have the story in a nutshell.

We all know that, in the world of EPW, being called a "random" is a derisive way of saying someone is a nobody. But what if that "Random" wasn't so random after all? This happened a few days ago, and I thought I'd share with you. As you all know, I typically don't PK; I am generally a spectator. However, amongst the chaos, I noticed a singular person standing off to the far right. As I moved closer, the person, I don't know, I guess you can say "teleported", sort of like a sin when they go into stealth, but without the movements. I got closer still, and my ping shot up through the roof. Now, I know there's a glitch where a person will be standing there one moment and be gone the next, this is due to lag. However, such was not the case. This person literally kept teleporting back, and anytime I'd get semi close enough to buff him/her, they'd teleport again. Judging by their armor, they were either using 110 gear, or were using the armor outfit, either way it was weird. Something else you must understand, I have good internet and a good computer. Am I saying that this random entity wasn't a glitch? No, but for it to cause my ping to skyrocket, it makes me wonder if it was a glitch... or was it truly a case of Deus ex Machina, an obsolete character that the A.I. decided to control. Technically that's impossible, right? I mean, only YOU know your password, how can an A.I. POSSIBLY hack your account and take over? It's simple: It extracts the information from the database and uses the data that it finds to open said account. Remember, it is an A.I., not a person. It doesn't end there, however, after several minutes of walking toward the character, I used Holy Path and got disconnected. Coincidence? Perhaps, but it was a well time coincidence if it were. That brings me to the second part of the story, which is an actual hard fact, you can even read up on it, but it is a backdoor program that is prominent in many computers called the Zero Day Vulnerability, which allows the programmer access to your computer and everything in it. Although NOT related to this story, it is important to know, because if said person had the Zero Day Vulnerability, it is plausible that they could cause glitches in the game, as it allows malware, adware, and access to ALL of your information, it can easily glitch things on a game, as the Zero Day Vulnerability gets worse. So, the question remains. Who was the "random", were they a glitch, were they CAUSING the glitches, or was it just a freak incident that may never occur again? I don't know, but it most certainly made me more aware of just how scary technology can get. The Ritual of Hatred

Despite the warning I am about to give, I know people will want to try it, and that is perfectly okay; but you must always remember the golden rule of rewards versus consequences. This ritual is simple, it cannot kill you, but, unfortunately, that is where I can honestly stop, because, let's face it, hatred is on par with love when it comes to raw, powerful, emotions. What makes this ritual so dangerous is how it is spread. It is not a virus, well, not in a computer sense, rather, it is a virus of the mind, the very layers of psyche that lie on top of each other precariously, exposed to just one tip to make it all come crumbling down. "But, Tsakhi," you may ask "what makes this so dangerous?" The answer is simple: Hatred affects people different ways. Enough. I gave you enough of a warning, if you wish to proceed with this ritual, do so with the knowledge of the consequences. All hatred sent to that person via your picture, will, inevitably, come back to you, as the rules of karma state. With that out of the way, I will now tell you how to start the Ritual of Hatred.

What you will need:

One Mirror
One Candle (It can be any color, but, I STRONGLY recommend either white or brown.)
One Camera
30 minutes to an hour by yourself.
This can be done at any time of day, but many believe it is best to do this ritual at either 3 P.M. or 3 A.M. as these are numbers of power. Since your ritual involves negativity, and if you're serious about doing this, I would start at 3 A.M or thereabout.

Sit in a room, alone, light the candle. Stare deeply into the smoke and focus on all the hatred you have in your heart, everyone that has wronged you, every one that has made fun of you, everyone that has dishonored you and focus. See these transgressions in the smoke and then imagine them seeping into your eyes. Allow this to go on for 30 minutes to an hour. WARNING: There are two red flags that you should take heed of while you are doing this ritual. If the candle goes out ABORT THE RITUAL! This means that there is something far more malicious in the vicinity and you should leave immediately! Do not look back and do NOT, for any reason, enter the room until the next day. 2) If you feel if someone is watching, ABORT THE RITUAL, DO NOT BLOW OUT THE CANDLE, SNUFF IT OUT WITH YOUR FINGER AND LEAVE THE ROOM. Whenever you are dealing with negativity, negative things WILL be drawn to you. See above for instruction about reentry. However, if neither of these occurred, you are safe and can continue. After you have preformed this part of the ritual, snuff out the candle with your finger, do NOT blow it out. Take the candle with you and throw it into a water basin or bathtub filled with salt and leave it there overnight, this will purify the candle.

The next step is quite simple: Take a selfie in the mirror of your choice, but do not smile. You are not happy, this is not a ritual of happiness.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT DOCTOR OR IN ANY WAY ALTER PHOTOS. The reason for this is because the hatred that had accumulated in the photo will be misdirected and allowed to go wherever it pleases. Look at the photo. What do you see? Tell me about your eyes? Are they different? Darker? Do they look almost dead? Good. Now, the final, and perhaps most crucial part of this ritual:. Post it. Anyone that has wronged you or are sensitive may become ill in one way or another. But remember one thing, my dear readers: What goes around, comes around.  

It is easy to end the ritual: Simply remove the picture...but just think of how many times that photo has been cached....
