I don't think anyone is arguing the amount of days of 2x, but more of when it happened. With my job, I was lucky that I got one day in. I worked every other day, including today (Saturday). It would've been nice to have a full weekend to farm or level.
BTW, unless you absolutely have to, never work retail or you will never have a free weekend again.
