I was doing BQ, minding my own business, and then all of the sudden, while looking at the map, I get put in a party with 2 others (they were doing bq as well apparently).  No popup ! saying if I wanted to join a squad, no notifications or anything of that sort.

What in the holy heck was that?

It's new feature I believe. Press T and uncheck auto-accept party if you don't want it.

It's on the T section near slogans. I don't really know what triggers it though. It's only auto-accepted for me once.

It actually pissed me off. I was doing a solo quest and they ruined it. I immediately dropped squad and had to retake the quest. But, yeah, now I can't get  randomly invited.

freaked me out as well, I also had to drop a solo instance and  re do. Now I know how to stop this from happening again . Thanks a bunch !!
