You should just transfer the one with brushes over. Also, sometimes mine doesn't work, so:
Mines an intuos and I go to the pen config window, change the pressure a bit, then go back and it works.
It doesn't matter if the pressure stays the same approx, just have to change it around a bit.

Yeah Im finishing my chibi in the smaller one :/ but I have so many colors on big one, o well, Imma set up colors here also. But I was so worried omg, I thought my pen has broken and I KNOW I take a very special care of my tablet and pen
