k i did everything except re-download/re-install. the updateserver thing looked as if it worked but whenever i do start now, verify, then run, it closes the window and doesnt open again. wth

Current version is v70. If you have tried Verifying, fixit.bat and making sure your patcher servers are up-to-date, then it looks like a re-download may be your only solution if your files are corrupt.
Sometimes it's just easier to download an up-to-date client than fix an old one.

If you can't get your patcher to work then I suggest looking up the manual patches to get from your version to the current. The autopatcher works for me but I know several people who cannot ever get a connection to the patch server for some reason. Manual patches will solve that issue (If it's that.) , they're also faster than regular patching I think.

If the version you downloaded isn't a recent one you should probably just re-download the most current package and go from there.

There are no manual patches for 56-70 (That I can see). Only 63 and up. The reason why I said that they would likely need to re-download is because of the SoW update being so huge and the client being way behind.

Well its taken 3 hours so far to try and fix your client which hasn't worked. I think its time to look into the dreaded alternative
