Tattoo should have meaning for first one, I mean some people have tattoo's with no meaning and not hating on it but for a first one should really see what really interests you and what you want to be on you for your life time. My first one was a eagle tribal type thing on my arm it was a spiritual thing, seeking guidance or wisdom and for my first tattoo was happy how it turned out. Hope this helps
