I said this a while back, but it essentially sums up how I feel about map resets:

Resetting the map every 6 months actually removed the incentive to work toward change. Why bother when you can give a half-assed attempt, and then just wait 6 more months hoping something will change? Why try when, even if you do succeed, you'll only reap the rewards of your labor for a couple of months at best. There were quite a few changes in the regime before that update. Now one faction has held mostly uncontested power for a considerable amount of time. Why? Because they easily get it all back after the 6 month mark rolls around again.
