Though making those ground only would be easy.It's possible to make it so you need to kill 4 towers before you can attack the crystal. So idea would be, HQ has Immune to damage til 4 towers are killed. But it's not possible to choose which towers, would be any of the towers on the side. But this is also good, because it leaves room for variety of strategies. Factions can choose which towers to kill. Whether they kill 4 inside base, or 2 in middle of lane and 2 at gates, or any other. It would also announce if a tower is killed, example: "A defender tower has been destroyed! 1/4" Ideas?
No flyers + disable the pull in of reelin + vortex sounds good to me. Towers, sure.
what if you kill them while they're constructing? could be easily abused then
Factions should defend their towers then.
