try to turn off antivirus before extracting files
I'm using AVG and it didn't like many files and it auto-deleted tons of crap without any warnings
another problem might be that graphic card doesn't respond on starting screen,making whole client to crash (starting screen takes lots of renderings and it ignores graphic settings,so ya)
and another problem might be that files got corrupted while downloading
