Common Issues and Fixes

Below there is a list of a possible solutions to the common technical problems players can encounter with the client.


Client errors:

1. Servers are showing as offline
- Start the patcher.exe and check if your game is at its latest version. If it's not, let it update and check again
- Restart your router and PC and check again
- Add the elementclient.exe file to your antivirus/firewall exception list
- Run fixit.bat in EPW/launcher and then click 'Verify' button on game patcher and check again
- Alternately redownload / reinstall the client

2. Game client won't open or crashes upon launch
- Install Microsoft Net Framework 4

- Install Visual studio 2013 redistr 
- Add the game directory to your antivirus exception list
- Start the game from patcher and click Verify button, then once process finishes, check again.
- Install DirectX 9.0c by running dxwebsetup.exe file located in EPW/element/ directory and check again
- Reinstall your graphic card drivers and check again
- Update your Windows (if your system is outdated it might be missing some libraries required to run the game)
- In the end restart your PC and check again

- If it still fails, redownload / reinstall the client

3. Game client crashes upon logging your toon
- Go to http://panel.epicpw.com/resetstuck.php to move your toon to the safe spot
- Solution above might not be permanent - in this case go to EPW/element/userdata and delete systemsettings.ini file and Layout folder - start client and check again
- Add the game directory to your antivirus exception list
- If problem still persists, click Verify button on patcher and check again
- Finally if the problem will still persist, it means that the client is corrupted. In this case please redownload / reinstall the client

4. Error message: Missing d3dx9_42.dll file
- Install DirectX 9.0c by running dxwebsetup.exe file located in EPW/element/ directory
- reinstall your graphic card drivers

5. .ini files can not be edited and saved/ new file is created as .txt
- Run Command prompt as Administrator and type net user administrator /active yes , press enter then close window and try again




Patcher errors:

6. Patcher won't update or Patcher message: Update server connection fails
- Run the patcher as administrator and check again
- Add patcher.exe to your antivirus/firewall exception list and check again
- Run fixit.bat in EPW/launcher and then click 'Verify' button on game patcher
- Restart the PC and router, then check again
- if methods above fail, please patch the game manually: http://epicpw.com/index.php?page=patches
- Alternately redownload / reinstall the client

7. Patcher error: Missing patcher.exe or PackDLL.dll files
- Run fixit.bat in EPW/launcher
- Add patcher.exe or PackDLL.dll to your antivirus exception list and check again

8. Patcher message: Update listed files error or Update files corrupted
- Close the patcher and start the Manual patch by double clicking on it
- Alternately click Verify button on patcher to update the game

9. Game won't start, patcher message: Client folder corrupted
- Run the patcher in Windows XP compatibility mode (should be available under right click -> solve compatibility issues or under properties)
- If it didn't help, click Verify button on patcher
- Finally, redownload / reinstall the client




Other Issues:

1. Not receiving voting gold
- Clean browser cache/cookies or try using a different browser
- Make sure to fill in the captcha's correctly
- If that's not working, the voting sites may have the IP range blocked. Consider using a VPN to change the IP

- Attempt using Incognito mode in the browser

2. Quest / Instance / Event not available on a character
- Ensure you have 200k reputation and the Rank 8 badge
- Check to see if you have the Master of Balance title (guide available here)
- Make sure you have the cultivation / boundary (Arcane/Mirage sky etc) required for the instance / quest

3. Gear swap not working or not displaying properly
- Make sure to use the ''Super Extension Stone'' from God's giving.
