Gimp2.8 is better, imo. It's more user friendly and has all the same functionalities as PS. I have paint.net but that's only for quick conversion of transparent pngs from browser > paint.net >gimp.

If you're new to Photoshop, I'd use http://www.getpaint.net/download.html instead. It's easier to use for the average person. This is also good:

You can't hide your inventory/gear. If you don't want others to see your items put them in your bank/stash.

Models is very tricky, you need to use a splitter to split the file, edit the main file, then merge it back together with the splitter tool, or else it will not work.
