And if it was an L in my name that was changed to I then its still not a problem since I take both names to prevent this.
Actually this^. Everyone with an I or an l should make both or many chars(depending on I and L amount) to prevent this from happening.
Eg. Char name Ilusion. Make chars named lIusion llusion IIlusion and no-one can impersonate you with what looks like exactly the same name.

Sometimes an external Clan/Guild/Faction Weppage helps I heard. (Like a second Forum, but only for the Clan/Guild/Faction.)
