At the moment there's no way to get Absence Notes. With next patch they will be added to an Unique Chest as once a week quest, which means that you'll have 4 absence notes a month.

or 2 Notes a week / 8 a month, I will see

Will we be getting the patch before the month ends so the notes can be used for those who missed days this month?

Also, any chance that the rewards will be changed? Sutra + IG seem rather lousy.

well people have been complaining about IGs. But, I vote for different rewards as well.
