My first what the f*** moment was playing Katamari Damacy (Damashii). That whole game was a "wtf" moment.


Persona  3: FES

I was not expecting the main character to ***ing die in Persona 3, Shinjiro's fate had a bit more foreshadowing, and I should have read the background at the start that says: "Memento Mori. Remember you are mortal. Remember your death." Annnd, should have known by the save point for being a butterfly. But when Aegis holds him in her arms and he wipes her tears away I started to cry because I knew it was the end. If you got Persona 3: FES, The  Answer gives you more of an idea why the main character chose to be the seal.

Persona 4:

I knew Naoto was a trap (thanks a lot internet), but the way it was revealed was what made it so poignant. There was just so much emotion in the whole scene and it doesn't hurt the voice actress hit it right on the nail.

Nanako's "Death": I'm not going to lie, I cried, a lot. Seeing everyone so conflicted, so angry, and so sad and the fact that Nanako was so young made it unfair. Hint: If you don't kill Namatame, and guess it's Adachi, you face the true boss :Izanami no Okami. When compared to P3's an hour and a half fighting Nyx, Izanami was almost laughable.

The true killer is....Adachi.

Kanji was revealed to be gay. Not really surprising per se, but it did give you a gut check when you see him on the T.V. and the provocative way he moves and his almost feminine voice was awesome. (By the way, Kanji is on the fence, now.)

That the gas station attendant was Izanami in disguise and she was the one that started it all.

Teddie is actually a shadow without real purpose until you meet him and his Persona pretty much states what he fear the most: He was nothing.

Final Fantasy 7:

I know everyone knows that Aeris dies, but the scene and the music will forever be ingrained in my memory.

Vincent is essentially an experiment, an experiment Dr. Hojo seemed to be very keen on.

Nibelheim? I thought it was supposed to be Niflheim" Not really a spoiler, more like a translation error. or a hidden meaning.

Final Fantasy 8:

Rinoa is a Sorceress.

GF are memory eaters.

The main characters were all raised in the same place by Edea, excluding Rinoa.

When Squall "dies" I did all this work for this?! ***!

Zidane lived!

Another heartbreaking scene: We find that Tidus is actually a dream and Jecht, before he became Sin was Tidus' father. Yuna runs to embrace him and flies right through him. Yep, definitely tear jerker. Also Auron got sent... .

Final Fantasy 6:

Ceres' attempted suicide and her finding Locke's bandanna that gave her hope. You must remember, this was the early 90's, and the average age for gamers for this game was 8-12, to be subjected to such a concept probably made it worse, because they could understand losing everything..

Wild ARMS 3

The little girl you see around town with long purple hair is actually the final boss. She is a dream demon that wishes to devour their Filgaia and make another one in her image.

Wild ARMS 2

This game had incest. The brother and sister responsible for creating ARMS make hints that they are lovers, too.

Chrono Trigger

Crono dies, but then he gets resurrected.  Yay!

Chrono Cross:

Kid was Schala.

Final Fantasy Tactics:

Teta's death. So very unfair.

"Blame yourself or blame god"

Bio Shock:

Bio Shock: You are never in control of your actions most of the time; "Would you kindly?" was a trigger word that made the protagonist  do what he was told. You do have control to a certain extent, but when do you know if it is you that is in control, or something much more sinister?

I always played games because of environment/character creation and usually didn't care about the lore

but my "wtf" moments were when players npcs didn't reply

Majora's Mask is one big WTF moment.

I love that game, it's easily my favorite Zelda, but...

-You wear masks of dead people (the biggest one that got me was the dead Deku kid, because you run into it as his embodiment after he dies, although I cried when the Zora died.  I did.)

-the boss is a mask itself (she has three forms, and one of them is a whip user...except the whip is like...her hands?  Yeah, WTF.  Also, it's implied that Majora doesn't have a gender, but only a soul that evil and manipulative can be a woman)

-the ***ing moon.  'Nuff said.

-one of the MANY side quests featured a woman and a man (Anju and Kafei) who were engaged to be married.  Kafei got turned into a kid due to a spell.  Then at the end, while cute, was a tad creepy, because Kafei never got the spell broken on him (until you beat the game, that is), so it was more mother-and-child, rather than husband-and-wife, but the freaking dialogue...oy.

-Gibdos.  And the other various dead/undead creatures.  Their relatives, the ReDead, like to do this:

This one happened few days ago at Cromagmon village. Kermo(Butthead) ate this special nut and became a squirrel. Not your ordinary one aswell. Like the head is wtf!
