I think it's quite common problem, as I'm looking on others gears I see 3 sockets quite a lot in r8. I made that mistake also... Our only options now are: to pay that 590mil coins for every last socket or made completely new one piece of armor and have usless one still in our inventory...

As a side note, I thought that reshaping it fixes the problem.
